Statement on the invasion of Ukraine

Members of the Slavic Department mourn the war in Ukraine, which has caused inestimable suffering, and which has disrupted research, learning, and intellectual exchange in the region and in our own community. We extend our sympathy to the many victims of this global crisis.

Many of us have written and spoken about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We continue to engage with the war’s profound social, cultural, political, economic, and environmental impacts through our research, teaching, and numerous events on campus.

We provide links to some of these diverse discussions and initiatives below.
