Research interests: émigré literature in Paris and America (in particular Vladimir Nabokov), Russian ballet from the late 19th century through the present day, Russian émigré ballet in early 20th century Paris (Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes), George Balanchine in Revolution-era Russia, Paris, and America, Early Soviet attempts at a Socialist Realist ballet
